FINANCE.

1.-REGULAR FORCES.

Allowance Regulations, 1884-Fuel and Light.

The following will be substituted for paragraph 2050, C1. 22. added to the Allowance Regulations, 1884 (Army Regn- February lations, Vol. I, Part 111), by Clause 150, Army Circulars, 1885:---

205z. Coal, coke, wood for fuel, candles, oil for light- ing, and wick, required for the following services, will be supplied as required on demands from the Officers concerned. These Officers will account for all supplies received by them on Expense Vouchers, Army Form F 771, to be rendered quarterly to the local Commissariat Oflicer, who will attach thera to his supply accounts in support of the issues made by him :---

Royal Engineer machinery.

workshops.

23 vessels.

Submarine services.

Electric light apparatus,

War Department vessels (for lighting supplies

only).

Magazines and Defences.

Signalling service (except wick for lanterns and

lamps on active service).

Ordnance Store workshops.

Allowance Regulations, 1884--Travelling-Mode of Payment of Travelling Expenses.

1884.

The following will be added after paragraph 679 of the Cl. 23. Allowance Regulations, 1884 (Army Regulations, Vol. J., Part III.):---

679a. When Officers or soldiers are defendants in cases tried before civil tribunals they will provide for the attendance, without cost to the public, of any military or other witnesses they may call for their defence (see also pa agraphs 5 and 6, Clause 31, Army Circulars, 1886).
